Outreach Programme
Empowering Communities, Saving Lives
Our Outreach Programme tackle the critical need for more stem cell donors from but not limited to Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities. Many patients with blood cancers can be cured through a stem cell transplant, but a lifesaving match is far more likely when donors share the same ethnic heritage. Unfortunately, low registration rates in BAME communities and cultural barriers often stand in the way of finding matches. Our programme works to overcome these challenges through targeted awareness, education, and engagement.
Why Our Outreach Matters
Blood cancer doesn’t discriminate, but access to lifesaving matches does.
Many people simply don’t realise:
Stem cell matches are strongly ethnicity-specific
BAME communities remain severely under-represented on donor registers
Registering is simple, safe, and can save someone’s life
Our outreach programme ensures communities receive trusted, culturally sensitive, and life-changing information, empowering people to take action.
Our impact so far
We’re proud that our efforts are making a measurable difference:

- 50,000+ individuals engaged across the UK’s ethnic diaspora through events and educational sessions.
- 150+ beneficiaries and families supported with financial, emotional, and practical care especially those affected by blood cancers and in need of stem cell transplants.
